George Kittle did not score in this year’s season opener for the San Francisco 49ers. However, he has been lights out since and recorded his 4th straight game with a touchdown on Thursday Night Football.
In the first half against the Seattle Seahawks, Brock Purdy hit Kittle near the pylon for one of Kittle’s best catches of the season. He secured the touchdown with a beautiful toe-tap with just enough space to get 2 feet inbounds.

Kittle’s touchdown allowed the 49ers to build a 16-3 lead heading into halftime, but the Seahawks would not go quietly. They closed San Francisco’s lead to 23-17 in the 2nd half, but Kittle was there again to help put this one away.
On a 3rd-and-4 in the red zone, it was Kittle over the middle who was able to haul in his 2nd touchdown of the game to help put things away. It was Kittle’s first game of the season with multiple touchdowns.

Though he has just 283 receiving yards on the season, Kittle is up to 5 touchdowns on the year after just 6 a season ago. He is currently tied for the NFL lead in touchdown receptions and has developed into a red-zone nightmare for opposing defenses.
According to PFF, Kittle is the current NFL leader in red zone catches, yardage and touchdowns so far this season. While San Francisco has a plethora of weapons, there’s no denying Kittle’s versatility out of the TE position is crucial for the offense.
