Controversy in Iowa City? Washington credited with made FG on questionable kick

Washington has produced its share of kicking struggles throughout this season. Those struggles popped up again with Grady Gross’s first kick of the season getting blocked and another kick just before halftime sparking major controversy.
On the kick, Gross and the Huskies were credited with a made field goal with the back judge making the call. However, the Hawkeyes vehemently disagree with many players signaling no good on the field.
It was definitely a kick of razor-thin margins:

Remarkably, Iowa would challenge — something FOX’s rules analyst claimed was not a reviewable call. After coming back from the review, the referee would announce the review showed the ball going over the upright, making the play unreviewable by rule.
A sort of review to determine the kick could not be reviewed, if you will:
“After reviewing the play the ball went over the upright, which makes it technically unreviewable.”

That kick and decision made it 17-10 in favor of Iowa, but the half would not end there. Kaleb Johnson sparked Iowa to deliver a last-second field of its own, pushing the score to 20-10 heading into the break.
