Oregon DL Derrick Harmon is from Michigan, so he grew up in the heart of Big Ten country. The junior defensive lineman knows a thing or 2 about hating Ohio State, and on Saturday night in one of the games of the year so far in college football, the Oregon star helped beat the Buckeyes in front of a rocking crowd at Autzen Stadium.

On Monday, Harmon was rewarded. He was named the Reese’s Senior Bowl Co-Defensive Player of the Week. Harmon was basically all over the Ohio State backfield in Oregon’s thrilling 32-31 victory that elevated the Ducks to No. 2 in Sunday’s new AP Poll.

Harmon had 3 tackles with all of them being solo. He was all over the stat sheet, registering a quarterback hit, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in the victory.

Harmon forced the fumble against Ohio State running back Quinshon Judkins, ripping the ball away from the Buckeyes junior and former Ole Miss star.

Harmon’s big-time performance in the biggest of games also came at the most opportune time, as the Ducks were missing sacks leader Jordan Burch, who suffered a lower-body injury during Oregon’s practice 2 days before the showdown game.

Harmon and the Ducks now head east in Week 8 for a Friday night matchup at Purdue.
