Former Penn State team captain OL Miles Dieffenbach has announced his cancer is in remission.
“It’s been quite the journey, but I am proud to say that I am in remission and presently have no cancer in my body!” wrote on Twitter. “This wouldn’t have been possible without God, my friends and family, UPMC, and Carnegie Mellon University. Thank you all for the support!”
In late March, Dieffenbach had shared he would be receiving chemotherapy to treat non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Months later, he’s sharing much better news.
The top center of the 2010 recruiting class, Dieffenbach was a multi-year starter at Penn State. He missed significant time his final season after suffering a knee injury in spring practice, but returned to start the final three games of 2014.
