Sherrone Moore’s Michigan Wolverines are locked in a battle with conference foe Illinois in Week 8.

The first half of the game did not go well for the Wolverines. The offense mustered just 45 passing yards and 7 points. Jack Tuttle was named the starter heading into this game after Davis Warren and Alex Orji both disappointed in previous games. However, Tuttle has not provided the spark the Wolverines were hoping for thus far.

Tuttle’s struggles had some wondering whether or not the team would make a QB change for the 2nd half. According to CBS’s sideline reporter, however, Moore will not be making a QB change. The coach said the game is Tuttle’s barring something unexpected happening.

No matter who has been playing at QB for the Wolverines, the production has been poor. Entering Week 8, the Wolverines have the No. 132 passing offense in the country. On the season, Warren has thrown for 444 yards with 2 TDs and 6 INTs. Orji has thrown for just 148 yards with 3 TDs and 1 INT.

Tuttle’s first action of the season came against Washington. The QB entered in relief of Orji and completed 10 of 18 passes for 98 yards with 1 TD and 1 INT. It was thought that picking a QB and sticking with him would provide a spark, but that has not been the case so far.

With around 3 minutes to play in the 3rd quarter, the Wolverines are still in a 21-7 hole. The team has just 193 total yards of offense with just 79 of those coming through the air. Regardless, Moore made it clear that Tuttle is the guy, at least for this game.
