5-star pass rusher Zion Elee still has a long way to go in his recruitment, but he seems to be focusing in on a pair of Big Ten programs.
On Tuesday, Elee told On3’s Josh Newberg that Oregon is his leader at the moment. However, he also mentioned that Maryland has been picking up steam in his recruitment as well.
“I would say Oregon is my leader but then again, I’ve recently started thinking about Maryland,” Elee said. “I would say Maryland and Oregon really like [top 2].”
Here’s video of Elee’s comments:

Elee attends St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, Maryland, which at least partially explains his interest in the Terps. Elee is one of the very best high school football prospects in the country, regardless of class or position.
He currently ranks as the No. 12 overall player and the No. 2 edge rusher in the country for the class of 2026, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 2 player from the state of Maryland in that class.
Elee has received offers from virtually every elite program in the country, including Ohio State, Michigan and Notre Dame, amongst numerous others. It seems Oregon and Maryland are both in good position to land his services, but there’s still a long way to go until Elee signs on the dotted line.
Here are some highlights from his high school career:
