Oregon will be without edge rusher Jordan Burch in the No. 1 Ducks’ contest against No. 20 Illinois on Saturday, per a report from Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports.

This marks the third contest that Burch has missed due to an injury he suffered earlier in the month. There was some concern that Burch’s absence last week vs. Ohio State could be the deciding factor between an Oregon win and an Oregon loss, but that ultimately proved not to be true. The Ducks were able to squeak out a 32-31 victory without their star pass rusher.

He was considered questionable ahead of the contest.

Over the course of 5 games Burch has played in during the 2024 season, he totals 19 combined tackles (7 solo), 5 sacks, 3 passes defended and 1 fumble recovery. The 6-foot-6, 295-pounder’s last time on the field saw him post 4 tackles (2 solo), 2.5 sacks and 1 fumble recovery in the 31-10 win over the Michigan State Spartans.

It will be interesting to see how the loss of Burch for another game impacts the Ducks this Saturday, though the team is highly favored over Illinois as the best team in college football for right now. Oregon and Illinois are set to kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET in Autzen Stadium.
