ESPN’s FPI is predicting one of the biggest rivalry games in Week 10 with Iowa City and the Iowa Hawkeyes playing host to the Wisconsin Badgers in a battle for the Heartland Trophy.
Naturally, ESPN’s Football Power Index is weighing in with what it thinks will happen. The FPI is giving the Badgers a 58.5% chance to win this game. That means the FPI doesn’t think the Hawkeyes have a pretty g0od chance to win at only 41.5% probability.
The B1G rivals will collide in a 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff from Kinnick Stadium with the game aired on NBC.
Wisconsin was on a 3-game winning streak entering the matchup against Penn State, but the Badgers were unable to get the win and lost, 28-13. They played well early in the game, leading 10-7 at the half.
The offense struggled in the game and could only muster up 298 yards of total offense. It was especially bad running the ball, as the Badgers had 27 carries for only 81 yards.
While the Badgers didn’t get the win, the Hawkeyes enter this game coming off a big win. Iowa defeated Northwestern, 40-14, behind a huge game from running back Kaleb Johnson.
He had 14 carries for 109 yards and 3 touchdowns and is currently 2nd in the country with 1,144 rushing yards. Only Boise State star and prime Heisman Trophy contender Ashton Jeanty has more.
This is the 98th matchup in this rivalry, and Wisconsin leads it at 49-46-2.
