Greg McElroy points to ‘clear liability’ for Ohio State following close call vs. Nebraska

Greg McElroy gave his thoughts on Ohio State-Nebraska after the Buckeyes barely got past the Cornhuskers on Saturday, 21-17.
One of the primary reasons, McElroy highlighted, was injuries to the offensive line. Josh Simmons was unavailable to go against the Huskers, and “it wasn’t the same,” he noted. He was critical of Zen Michalski, who started in place of Simmons but had to leave due to injury.
“There was a clear liability at the left side of the offensive line, and as a result, it really wasn’t very good,” he added.
Ohio State heads to Penn State for Week 10 in what should be a raucous atmosphere for the Nittany Lions in Happy Valley, with McElroy wondering if the Buckeyes had perhaps been a little too focused on that, especially considering Nebraska had fallen 56-7 in Week 8.
“Is there a lot to learn about Ohio State’s sluggish performance against Nebraska coming out of the bye, knowing what’s coming up next week? Probably not. Is is possible that they may have been looking a little bit ahead, especially looking at what Nebraska did … at the hands of Indiana? Was it possible that maybe Ohio State wasn’t all in on this performance? Yeah, I think it is. I think it is 100 percent,” he said.
