Report: High-profile CFB head coach identified as tipster in Ohio State, Urban Meyer investigation

One of the most prominent members of the Urban Meyer coaching tree can be crossed off the Christmas card list. Ohio State insider Jeff Snook is reporting that Texas head coach Tom Herman tipped off reporter Brett McMurphy about the Zach Smith allegations in Columbus.
As Ohio State’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach from 2012-14, he worked closely with both Meyer and former Buckeyes wide receivers coach Zach Smith. He left to take the head coaching job at Houston in 2015.
Snook, like McMurphy, is sharing his reports via Facebook. As an Ohio State journalism graduate and author of multiple books on the Buckeyes, he is widely recognized as an OSU insider. Earlier in the week he shared that the mothers of both Zach Smith and Courtney Smith believe Courtney Smith made up the claims of abuse as part of a vow to take down Meyer.
