Kurtis Rourke has been a major factor in Indiana’s historic 2024 season. On Saturday, he’s still making plays, and he’s approaching some individual records of his own with the Hoosiers.
After being stopped on the first drive of the game, Rourke and the offense were right back to their efficient work with the football.
The Hoosiers traveled 75 yards on 7 plays to score a touchdown and make it 7-3 over Michigan. The key pickup was a 26-yard gain to Ke’Shawn Williams down the sideline while Rourke capped it with a 7-yard touchdown to Omar Cooper Jr.
Here’s how that touchdown went down:

After that, Rourke and the offense came right back with a 65-yard drive for their second touchdown of the game. This time, it was a 36-yard dart on a textbook deep ball with Rourke finding Elijah Sarratt for the touchdown.

Rourke is just the 6th Hoosier all-time with 20+ passing touchdowns in a season. His 21st of the season ties him with Nate Sudfeld (2013) for the 5th-most in a single season in program history, and it is the first time since Sudfeld threw 27 in 2015 that an IU QB has reached 20 touchdowns.
Rourke entered the weekend tied with Will Howard and Dillon Gabriel for first in the B1G with 19 touchdowns. Howard threw 3 in a blowout of Purdue to get to 22 on the season while Gabriel will face Maryland in primetime.
Sudfeld in 2015 is the last Indiana QB to lead the B1G in passing touchdowns. The single-season record for passing touchdowns with the Hoosiers is 28, set by Kellen Lewis in 2007.
