Joel Klatt’s top-10 rankings look a little bit different with Week 12 of college football now officially in the books.

And if there’s anything he especially shares in common with other analysts, it’s the newfound skepticism of Oregon at No. 1.

Klatt — and basically everyone else for that matter — still have the Ducks at No. 1 following their close 16-13 win over the Wisconsin Badgers. Many expected this to be a victory by a much larger margin considering that Oregon is ranked No. 1, while Wisconsin had lost 2 straight games by double-digits.

But, because of the head-to-head win over Ohio State and the nature of where some other teams are ranked in the top-10 and why, it was practically impossible to move the Ducks out of the No. 1 spot. And so Klatt has it all as the following in his latest release:

  1. Oregon
  2. Ohio State
  3. Texas
  4. Indiana
  5. Penn State
  6. Georgia
  7. Ole Miss
  8. Alabama’
  9. Tennessee
  10. Notre Dame

Note that “don’t feel great about it” tag next to where Oregon is listed. Some runner-ups who came up just short of making the list include Miami, Boise State, Texas A&M and Colorado.

Outside of Oregon, one of the most notable moves was the rise of Georgia after the way the Bulldogs had been written off just a week before after their loss to Ole Miss. Their resounding 31-17 victory over Tennessee in Sanford Stadium changed all of that.

It will be interesting to watch how the rankings of Klatt and others evolve in the final stretch of the season.
