WATCH: Tom Allen surprises Indiana walk-on with scholarship

Watching walk-on athletes receive scholarships is something that will never get old this time of year. It’s a life-changing moment that is often celebrated in some of the most exciting and creative ways.
Indiana defensive lineman Gavin Everett is the most recent college football player to experience that life-changing moment, as head coach Tom Allen awarded the former walk-on with a scholarship during practice.
Allen, with a megaphone in hand, appeared to be setting up a drill and trying to fire up the two players participating. That’s when the Hoosiers head coach blurted out that Everett would receive a scholarship.
The response Everett received from his teammates was spectacular.

That’s a moment he’ll never forget.
Everett transferred to Indiana from Western Illinois in 2016, but was forced to miss that season due to NCAA transfer policies. He played in nine games for the Hoosiers last season, registering seven tackles and forcing a fumble.
Everett is an Indiana native, growing up in Center Grove.
