Indiana rides efficient drive, penalties by Ohio State to opening TD

Indiana is playing arguably the biggest game in program history on Saturday, facing Ohio State in a top-5 matchup. However, Curt Cignetti’s group did not bat an eyelash to open the game.
On the first drive of the game by the Buckeyes, Indiana forced a quick 3-and-out by Ohio State’s offense. That set the table for an impressive drive by the Hoosiers.
Twice, Indiana benefitted from a pass interference flag by Ohio State’s Davison Igbinosun. The cornerback is known for his issues with penalties this season, and you can count on the Hoosiers to continue targeting him throughout Saturday’s game.
The drive was eventually capped by Ty Son Lawton with a short 2-yard run to open the scoring in Columbus:

As a whole, the drive was a clinical start from Indiana’s offense. The Hoosiers faced three 3rd downs on the possession but passed each one with flying colors.
Two of Indiana’s big gains came on 3rd-down conversions. Kurtis Rourke connected with Myles Price for 13 yards on a 3rd-and-9 while Rourke later found Elijah Sarratt for 19 yards on 3rd-and-6.
We’ll see if the Ohio State defense wakes up, but the Hoosiers are ready early on.
