Big plays have been hard to come by for the Cowboys in 2024. Dak Prescott suffered a season-ending injury and the team has relied on Cooper Rush to lead the offense. Entering this weekend, the Cowboys were 20th in yards per game, 24th in points per game, and 31st in rushing yards per game.
Since taking over as the starter, Rush has struggled. The QB had thrown for 566 yards with 2 TDs and 2 INTs heading into Sunday.
Schoonmaker has split snaps at TE with Jake Ferguson and Brevyn Spann-Ford. The Michigan product was selected by the Cowboys in the 2nd round of the 2023 NFL Draft. As a rookie, Schoonmaker appeared in 12 games and caught 7 passes for 61 yards and 2 TDs.
In college, Schoonmaker starred for the Wolverines from 2018-2022. The TE earned Third-team All-Big Ten honors in 2022 after catching 35 passes for 418 yards and 3 TDs. Over 43 games at Michigan, Schoonmaker collected 54 catches for 637 yards and 7 TDs.
Dallas would eventually end the game with a win, but not before a wild touchdown from Terry McLaurin and Jayden Daniels gave Washington life before the end of the game.
