Ja’Whaun Bentley made some huge plays while wearing a Purdue uniform. And it hasn’t taken the NFL rookie long to adjust to the professional level.

During Thursday night’s preseason matchup between New England and Philadelphia, Bentley made a huge impact early in the game, coming up with a fumble recovery and returning it 62 yards for a touchdown.

It was Bentley’s first touchdown as a member of the Patriots.

Bentley has played in both of New England’s preseason games this season, tallying 11 tackles. He’s in his rookie season, being selected in the fifth round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

In four seasons at linebacker at Purdue, Bentley played in 37 games, registering 112 tackles, 29.5 stops for loss and three fumble recoveries.
