The defender didn’t even have a chance against Carlos Hyde on this play.

The former OSU RB is now with the Cleveland Browns and entering his fifth NFL season, and it looks like Hyde is already in mid-season form. He took a handoff and bounced to the outside where a Buffalo Bills safety had Hyde in his sights. Unfortunately, Hyde had no intentions of going down that quickly.

Hyde buried the defender with a brutal stiff arm and kept on going down the sideline for a big gain. The NFL shared a video of his impressive run:

Hyde rushed for more than 3,000 yards over his career with the Buckeyes. He is coming off of back-to-back 900-yard seasons with San Francisco, but Hyde will likely split time in the Browns backfield with Duke Johnson and rookie Nick Chubb. More plays like this will likely help Hyde get more touches in the regular season.
