Third Penn State player announces retirement

Another Penn State player has announced that he’ll be retiring from the game of football.
On Saturday, defensive end Torrence Brown announced via Twitter that he’ll be hanging up the helmet and shoulder pads, citing numerous injuries and surgeries for his decision.
“Due to multiple injuries and surgeries, my career at Penn State has come to an end,” Brown wrote. “It has been tough coming to terms with this news but I know that everything happens for a reason and God will continue to guide me.”

Earlier this week, two other Penn State players — defensive lineman Ryan Buccholz and cornerback Jordan Miner — also announced they would be stepping away from the game.
Buccholz cited “extreme pain” and several surgeries for his decision. Miner was diagnosed with a heart condition that put his football career on hold.
Backup quarterback Tommy Stevens was also recently seen sporting a walking boot at practice.
In three seasons with the Nittany Lions, Brown registered 52 stops, 12.5 tackles for loss and forced three fumbles. His best year statistically came during Penn State’s B1G title run in 2016, tallying 33 tackles, six for loss and recording the three forced fumbles.
Brown was entering his senior season in Happy Valley.
