Michigan’s lone AP vote comes from Ohio-based pollster

Who said Michigan and Ohio can’t get along?
The Wolverines, coming off a 5-7 season, received one vote in Sunday’s preseason Associated Press poll. Where did that vote come from? The state of Ohio, of course.
David Briggs, of the Toledo Blade in Toledo, Ohio, put Michigan at No. 24 in his preseason rankings. The other 60 writers did not rank the Wolverines, which will kick off their first season of the Jim Harbaugh era on Sept. 3 at Utah.
Who does Briggs cover for a living? The Ohio State Buckeyes, of course. Briggs did help the Buckeyes become the first team in AP history to receive a unanimous No. 1 ranking.
He shared his selections upon the release of the poll.
