The 2018 season isn’t quite underway yet, but the Las Vegas SuperBook is taking bets on which player will win the Heisman Trophy.

Stadium reporter Brett McMurphy shared the latest odds on his Twitter account. McMurphy used only last names, so some fans might not recognize all the names, but the four B1G candidates are easy to find in the list of 16.

The SuperBook’s favorite is Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa, the hero off the bench in the College Football Playoff championship. Tagovailoa has yet to start a game for the Crimson Tide, but the oddsmakers in Vegas seem convinced by his performance in January.

The top B1G candidate is Wisconsin RB Jonathan Taylor at 8:1 odds. Taylor is behind Tagovailoa (4:1) and Stanford RB Bryce Love (5:1).

After Taylor, it’s three B1G quarterbacks among the remaining 13 candidates listed. Penn State’s Trace McSorley leads the pack of signal-callers at 15:1. Ohio State’s Dwayne Haskins is part of a group of four players at 20:1 while Michigan’s Shea Patterson is at 25:1.

The award will have to be earned with play on the field, but this is one time where preseason hype can be helpful.
