A trio of Big Ten programs are reportedly battling it out for ex-Notre Dame offensive lineman Rocco Spindler.

That’s according to On3’s Pete Noks and Steve Wiltfong. Per the report, it’s Indiana, Michigan and Nebraska who are in the mix for the former Fighting Irish guard.

Spindler entered the transfer portal earlier this week after helping Notre Dame reach the National Championship Game. He was a key offensive lineman for the Fighting Irish in 2024, particularly with the number of injuries they suffered.

According to Pro Football Focus, Spindler finished the season with 747 snaps and an overall grade of 70.5. His snap count ranked 4th amongst Notre Dame O-lineman for the season.

Now, though, Spindler will be in search of a new opportunity in his final season of eligibility next season. Any of Indiana, Michigan or Nebraska could fit the bill. The Hoosiers will be looking to sustain the success they enjoyed in 2024 and bringing in top transfers like Spindler could certainly help with that.

Michigan and Nebraska will be hoping to take a step forward in 2025. Both programs had relatively disappointing seasons in 2024, although Nebraska did manage to snap its multi-year bowl drought.

There is no timetable for Spindler to make his final decision.
