Tre Donaldson and Michigan were trailing by 1 point with 5.3 seconds against Maryland, but the guard took the ball coast-to-coast and finished at the rim with 0.4 seconds to give the Wolverines the 81-80 win.

With 43 seconds remaining, Maryland tied the game at 76 on a layup by Derik Queen. However, Donaldson came back down the floor and gave the Wolverines a 3-point lead after he came off a screen and buried a shot from deep.

Danny Wolf went to the line for the Wolverines with 12 seconds remaining, but he missed the front end of a 1-and-1 to add to the drama. Queen was fouled with 5.3 seconds left, and he knocked down both free throws to give Maryland the lead before Donaldson’s heroics.

The frontcourt of the Wolverines was big all day, as Vladislav Goldin (25 points) and Wolf (21) led the way in scoring. Donaldson finished the game with 12 points but did lead the team with 9 assists.

For the Terrapins, Queen was the guy all day as he finished with a game-high 31 points.

With the win, the Wolverines will take on Wisconsin in the B1G Championship on Sunday. The Badgers held on for a thrilling 3-point win against the Michigan State Spartans in the first game.

These 2 teams played on Dec. 3 in Madison, with the Wolverines winning that game 67-64. Tipoff between Michigan and Wisconsin is 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS on Sunday.

Maryland will now wait to see where it is headed for an NCAA tournament, as the Terrapins could be in the mix for a 3 or a 4 seed.
