Ohio State’s 2026 recruiting class got a major boost on Tuesday afternoon.
The Buckeyes earned a commitment from 4-star offensive tackle Sam Greer. He was a major target for the Buckeyes and one of the best prospects from the state of Ohio in this cycle regardless of position.
Here’s his commitment announcement, which includes video of Greer informing the Ohio State coaching staff of his decision:

Greer is a huge pickup for Ohio State in this cycle. He’s the No. 188 overall player and the No. 17 offensive tackle in the country for the class of 2026, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 7 player from the state of Ohio in this class.
Greer attends Archbishop Hoban High School in Akron, Ohio. He’s listed at 6-foot-6, 310 pounds.
Ohio State is off to a good start in this class, particularly on the offensive line. Greer is already the 2nd 4-star commit to join Ohio State’s 2026 cycle so far. Overall, the Buckeyes have 6 commits in the class of 2026. The group ranks No. 15 nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
Ohio State will likely make even more strides on the recruiting trail in the coming weeks and months. The Early Signing Period for the class of 2026 is slated for December.
