Out of O’Connor High School in Phoenix, Smith is listed as measuring 6-5, 280 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, Smith is rated 3-stars, the No. 12 player in the state of Arizona, No. 72 interior offensive lineman and No. 844 prospect overall in the Class of 2026.
Smith drew interest from multiple Power conference programs. He currently has scholarship offers from 12 programs, including Arizona, Arkansas, Iowa State, Oklahoma State, USC, Purdue and Washington. For Wednesday’s commitment, he chose Ohio State over Kansas State, Arizona State and Minnesota.
