Jase Richardson is entering the 2025 NBA Draft, according to a report.

That’s per ESPN’s Jonathan Givony, who broke that news on Tuesday morning. Richardson will depart East Lansing after just 1 season and is a potential first-round pick in this summer’s NBA Draft.

Richardson emerged as a one-and-done candidate midway through the season. From Feb. 8 onwards, Richardson averaged 16.1 points per game and was a big reason why Michigan State basketball was able to get back to the Elite Eight this season.

In ESPN’s latest NBA mock draft, Richardson is projected to be picked at No. 14 overall by the Atlanta Hawks. He profiles as a strong scoring option in the back court as he was efficient from all over the court.

Per BartTorvik, Richardson shot 69% on “close 2s” this season — a very good number for a guard. Richardson also made north of 40% of his 3-point attempts. Richardson was one of just three players 6-foot-4 or shorter in the entire country this season to hit those benchmarks (min. 80 attempts).

If Richardson does go in the first round, he’d be the first Spartan to do so since 2018 when Jaren Jackson Jr. and Miles Bridges were picked at No. 4 and No. 12, respectively.
