Michigan wide receiver Amorion Walker is headed back to the transfer portal.

Walker, a member of the Wolverines’ 2022 recruiting class who briefly joined Ole Miss before returning to Ann Arbor, will re-enter the portal when it opens for the spring on Wednesday, he told On3’s Clayton Sayfie on Thursday. He will have 2 seasons of eligibility remaining.

Walker was a 3-star recruit when he initially signed with the Wolverines. He appeared in 6 games as a true freshman and was credited with one catch while recording no stats in 5 games in 2023.

After Jim Harbaugh departed to become the head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers, Walkter then transferred to Ole Miss, going through spring ball with the program in 2024 before re-entering the portal and rejoining Michigan. That year, he made 3 catches for 34 yards in 2024.

Now, though, it looks as if Walker is back to square one, and back in the portal, at least. As Sayfie notes, Walker didn’t have a jersey number this spring, the only player on the roster with that designation.

We’ll see what Walker’s next move is, and if a fresh start elsewhere is what he needs to take the next step in his college career.
