Michigan has reached out to Iowa transfer quarterback Brendan Sullivan, according to a report.

That news was first shared by On3’s Pete Nakos on Friday afternoon. Nakos reports that Sullivan will visit Tulane next weekend and has also been in contact with Virginia Tech.

Sullivan entered the transfer portal this week after competing with Auburn transfer Hank Brown for the starting job at Iowa this spring.

At Michigan, Sullivan would likely be a backup option for the Wolverines in 2025. Sherrone Moore’s team has 5 quarterbacks on the roster as of publication, but only 2 were healthy during the spring — Jadyn Davis and 5-star freshman Bryce Underwood.

If Michigan does bring Sullivan in, he would be the 2nd transfer quarterback addition of the offseason so far for the Wolverines. Michigan previously signed former Fresno State quarterback Mikey Keene, but he was limited due to injury.

It’s unclear at this point if Sullivan would have a chance at the starting role should he decide to enroll at Michigan. The Wolverines don’t have a proven quarterback on their roster, but Underwood is expected to receive strong consideration for playing time even as a true freshman. He was the No. 1 overall prospect in the country for the 2025 recruiting class, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

Sullivan began his collegiate career at Northwestern. He’s thrown for 1,778 yards, 13 touchdowns and 8 interceptions across 3 seasons in college football.
