Washington watched its depth at cornerback shrink on Saturday when Caleb Presley decided to enter the spring transfer portal.

Presley’s decision to leave Washington after 2 seasons in Seattle was reported by Matt Zenitz of 247Sports on Saturday afternoon. The 4-star recruit from the Class of 2023 came to Washington with visions of stardom but never worked out. He didn’t record any stats with the Huskies during his 2 years in Seattle.

Presley had originally committed to Oregon coming out of high school at Sammamish Rainier Beach in Washington, but he flipped from the Ducks to the Huskies.

As a highly touted prospect, Presley was the 9th-ranked cornerback and the top-ranked player from the state of Washington in the Class of 2023, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

Presley had been through a lot of ups and downs already this spring before deciding to transfer. He forced a few pass breakups during 1-on-1 drills, but Presley also struggled at times in showing how much growth he still had to do.

He had several battles with Penn State transfer Omari Evans, who beat Presley for a 40-yard touchdown during 1 spring practice.

Now, Presley is heading elsewhere for the 2025 season after 2 lost seasons in the Pacific Northwest.
