Marvin Harrison Jr. enjoyed a strong rookie season for the Arizona Cardinals last year, as he finished with 62 catches for 885 yards and 8 touchdowns. During his time at Ohio State, he played in multiple games against Michigan.
The guy he was matched up with in those games was Wolverines defensive back Will Johnson, who was 1 of the best cornerbacks in college football. Michigan was able to get the better of Ohio State in those games, with Johnson getting an interception in the 2023 matchup.
On Friday night, the Cardinals selected Johnson with the No. 47 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, making the former rivals now teammates. Harrison on social media appeared to be excited, as he posted a photo of them matched up with a handshake emoji.
Johnson being available at this pick is 1 of the most shocking things to come from the draft thus far. Heading into last college football season, he was looked at as a potential top 5-10 pick. However, he reportedly is dealing with a knee issue that has caused some teams to back off the defensive back.
During their matchups in college, Johnson showed he had the ability to be a star cornerback in the NFL. If he is able to get back and be the player he was, then these 2 could be the keys to a change in the Cardinals’ future.
