Ohio State outside linebacker Jack Sawyer is off the board, as he was taken by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 4th round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Sawyer was the 114th overall selection and the 21st pick of the 4th round.
Sawyer enjoyed a massive College Football Playoff as the Buckeyes won their first national championship since 2014. He combined for 4.5 sacks — 1.5 against Tennessee, 2.0 against Oregon, and 1.0 against Texas — while adding an 83-yard fumble recovery against the Longhorns in the Cotton Bowl that secured Ohio State’s place in the national championship game.
For his career at Ohio State, Sawyer totalked 144 tackles, 23.0 sacks, and 29 tackles for a loss. His 59 tackles and 9.0 sacks in 2024 were career bests as he was named 2nd-team All Big Ten in back-to-back seasons. He also forced 3 fumbles and was credited with an interception in 2024.
The Columbus native won’t be playing his pro ball in the Buckeye State, but he won’t be too far from home as a member of the Steelers with Pittsburgh a shade under 3 hours away. And with a national championship under his belt, he’ll hope for even bigger moments in the professional ranks.
