NCAA clears Michigan State of any violations in Larry Nassar scandal

The NCAA issued a letter to Michigan State University, stating the school did not commit any violations in the Larry Nassar sexual assault scandal, as well as handling allegations made against football and basketball players.
On Thursday, Brendan Quinn of The Athletic reported that Michigan State was cleared of committing any NCAA violations in the Nassar scandal. There were also no violations in the investigations into allegations made against student-athletes involved in football and basketball on campus.
The NCAA’s letter comes just one day before the Spartans open the football season against Utah State in East Lansing.

Athletic director Bill Beekman said the university “cooperated fully with the inquiry” and welcomes the NCAA’s conclusion,” according to the Chicago Tribune.
In January, the football program came under scrutiny after allegations claimed that multiple players had been accused of sexual assault and that head coach Mark Dantonio failed to handle those situations adequately.
Dantonio denied the allegations in a press conference.
