Indiana football landed a strong Spring portal commitment on Saturday, beating out the likes of Tennessee and Miami for former Cal WR Jonathan Brady.

Brady’s numbers don’t light the world on fire, but this is still a quality pickup; a veteran receiver with consistent success as a WR3/WR4. He’s one of 3 transfer receivers to announce their commitment to Indiana, including Michigan receiver Tyler Morris and App State receiver Makai Jackson.

As you can see below, Brady has played 3 seasons of college football and totaled 97 receptions for 1,460 yards and 11 touchdowns. He started his career at New Mexico State before transferring to Cal to start the 2024-25 season.

Brady has posted at least 300 yards receiving in each season he’s played, but his best season came just before transferring to Cal. Brady totaled 38 receptions for 624 yards and 4 touchdowns with future Vanderbilt starting QB Diego Pavia under center.

There is more momentum behind Indiana football heading into this season than there has been in a long, long time. The Hoosiers are fresh off a trip to the College Football Playoff after posting an impressive 11-1 regular season. The Hoosiers fell to Notre Dame in the first round, 27-17.
