Fred Hoiberg is looking to get Nebraska basketball back into the NCAA Tournament after a collapse down the stretch in 2025. On Wednesday, the Huskers picked up a key prospect toward that end.
Fridrik Leo Curtis, a European 7-footer who played in Iceland during the 2023-24 season, committed to Nebraska after previously committing to Arizona State. He is a top-100 recruit per the 247 Sports Composite.
Curtis has a versatile skill set for his frame and is not afraid to get up jump shots from long range. He also moves well with an ability to run the floor.
Curtis spent this past season at Cambridge Arts, Technology and Science in Braintree, Massachusetts. He is rated as a 4-star recruit, the No. 96 overall player in the country for the 2025 recruiting class and the 13th center in the country.
The versatile big man is just the 2nd high school commitment for the Huskers, joining 4-star small forward Quentin Rhymes.
The rest of Nebraska’s incoming pieces thus far are all via the transfer portal, with 6 transfer pieces. Pryce Sandfort, a Big Ten sharpshooter out of Iowa, is one of the key additions for the Huskers entering the 2025-26 season.
