Thomas Barber was the first player to make a play for Minnesota in the season opener.
Midway through the first quarter, the linebacker made dove after a deflected pass from New Mexico State, coming up with the interception and setting the Gophers up with great field position.
After the pick, Minnesota drove down the field and put the first touchdown of the B1G season on the board.
