Northwestern was able to improve its win streak to nine games on Thursday night, edging out Purdue 31-27 in West Lafayette. The Wildcats currently hold a one-game lead in the B1G West.
Of course, they are the only team with a conference win right now.
The Wildcats weren’t great in the victory but running back Jeremy Larkin filled in nicely for the departed Justin Jackson, rushing for 143 yards and two touchdowns against the Boilermakers.
It was a huge road win for Northwestern on Thursday night. Here’s what Pat Fitzgerald had to say after beating the Boilermakers:
Fitz at the podium: “We have a very clear plan medically on how we were gonna manage the quarterbacks.” Thanks doctors.

Fitz said he created the plan 3 weeks ago … “well choreographed” … saying it involved “different things and factors” 🤷♂️

“It was more that we had a series plan that we wanted to go through.” Apologizes for being vague. Congratulated McCall on handling it.

For the last series: “he was out that series, medical team came to me halfway through the series and said we could put him in”

Fitz at a loss for words regarding Rondale Moore’s highlight tape. “I’m just glad I didn’t have to tackle him”
