Joel Klatt is already gearing up for all the top matchups throughout the 2025 college football season. On Monday, his latest episode of “The Joel Klatt Show” tackled the 10 games liable to shape the entire season, and The Game had its rightful spot on the list.

The intrigue is extra thick this year with Michigan and Ohio State claiming the last 2 national titles. However, the postgame brawl last season, complete with pepper spray, gave the Wolverines 4 straight wins in the series and brief damper for the Buckeyes before winning the national title.

“It is The Game, we’re all waiting for it. Why? These are the 2 teams that have won the last national championships. You’ve got all of the backstory of how this game finished last year,” said Klatt about The Game’s inclusion. “My goodness, how many times are we going to see all of that video with Mason Graham pounding his chest and then all of a sudden the flags getting waved around… Like, holy cow, we get to see this matchup again, it’s going to be in the Big House!”

This year’s matchup will be set in its traditional 12 pm time slot on FOX, live from Ann Arbor. DraftKings has already set the line at Ohio State -5.5 as a road favorite, but Michigan is eager to show the team can still dominate the series, even if the Buckeyes hold the talent advantage. Fans can take advantage of the DraftKings promo code Ohio for all the top offers ahead of time.

“This year’s game is going to be epic,” continued Klatt. “Michigan, which has 4 straight wins in this series, could they actually get to 5? If we just think back to the COVID year, I’ll be honest, I didn’t think Michigan was going to win for the foreseeable future, and now all of a sudden they’ve ripped off 4 straight.”

Ryan Day and his struggles against TTUN are the biggest blemish on his coaching record in Columbus. Making matters worse, Sherrone Moore has started his head coaching career with a 2-0 record in The Game, both guiding the Wolverines to a win as big underdogs.

Now, we’ll get to find out which team has a leg up in 2025 with both programs coming off an offseason of significant change.
