Ohio State is hoping for some big wins on the football field this fall, but the Buckeyes landed a major Big Ten win on Friday on the recruiting trail.

This win came in the form of Damari Simeon, a major defensive line prospect out of St. Augustin Prep in New Jersey. Simeon generated a host of major offers in the 2026 recruiting class but trimmed his sheet to a final group that contained Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State and Texas.

In the end, his pledge went to Ryan Day and the Buckeyes after a recent official visit to Columbus:

Simeon is listed at 6-foot-3 and 275 pounds as a 4-star prospect. The 247 Sports Composite has Simeon as the 26th DL in the country for the class of 2026 and the 201st overall player regardless of position.

The commitment is also at a position of need for the Buckeyes as their recruiting class begins to take shape. Khary Wilder, a 4-star edge, was the only defensive line prospect currently committed in the cycle.

So far, Ohio State has the No. 5 overall recruiting class in the country per the team composite, and there is plenty of time to try and push for the top class in the country.
