Indiana is starting to get its feet wet for the 2026 recruiting class, and new head coach Darian DeVries landed his first piece on Friday.

The commitment comes via Prince-Alexander Moody, a combo guard out of Bishop McNamara High School in Maryland. Moody generated multiple Big Ten offers, including Maryland, Illinois and Michigan State, before revealing his commitment to Indiana.

Moody is listed at 6-foot-4 and 180 pounds and received a 4-star rating from 247 Sports. According to the composite, Moody is a 3-star prospect and the No. 21combo guard in the country for the cycle. Now that DeVries has his first piece for 2026, it will be interesting to see how the Hoosiers round out the rest of the cycle.

This offseason, DeVries has leaned into the transfer portal more than anything to turnover the roster for his first season in Bloomington. The head coach did sign 4-star power forward Trent Sisley, a top-100 recruit, but the rest of the roster changes came via the portal.

Indiana added 10 players via the portal for a group that was ranked as the No. 10 transfer class in the country, according to 247 Sports. One of the key pieces is DeVries’ son, Tucker DeVries, a key forward who has played for his dad during stops at Drake and West Virginia.
