Jeremiah Smith is moving into his sophomore season at Ohio State, and the electric playmaker is also making a move with an NIL apparel brand.
On Wednesday, Adidas formally announced the signing of Smith to their lineup of football athletes. Smith also acknowledged the move, saying he is “three stripes for life” on social media.

Smith had previously discussed the move to Adidas during his interview with Manny Navarro of The Athletic. Smith referenced the importance of Adidas throughout his playing career, going back to his days as a youth football player.
According to Navarro, Ohio State’s main apparel sponsor, Nike, pushed hard to land Smith as an ambassador, but the personal connection to Adidas was too much to turn down:
“I’ve been wearing Adidas since I was a young kid, 11, 10 years old,” Smith said. “To be a part of the brand is something special.”
The signing of Smith is a major win for Adidas after the electric freshman campaign skyrocketed the appeal of the wide receiver. He was already hailed as a generational talent, and the 2024 performance only cemented what fans long expected from the receiver.
He joins former Ohio State star Emeka Egbuka, Penn State star Abdul Carter and 2024 Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter in Adidas’s growing lineup of football stars.
