Penn State’s 2026 recruiting class took a hit on Wednesday.
Roseby Lubintus committed to the Nittany Lions back on April 25. The Sicklerville, New Jersey native out of Timber Creek High School, however, decided that State College was not home for him. He’s now ACC-bound, announcing his commitment to Syracuse via social media.

Interestingly, Lubintus announced his pledge to Penn State just 2 weeks after his April 11 official visit to Syracuse. Though James Franklin’s staff did get Lubintus on campus in late May, there were signs that he was not firm in his verbal pledge to the program. Following the PSU visit, Lubintus took an official visit to Michigan State on June 13.
While Lubintus already has lineman size (6-5, 350 pounds), he’s not a terrible hit to Penn State’s recruiting rating. On the 247Sports Composite, Lubintus is rated 3-stars, the No. 16 player in the state of New Jersey, No. 81 offensive tackle and No. 996 prospect overall in the Class of 2026.
Even without Lubintus, Penn State still has 24 verbal commitments for 2026, including 3 offensive tackles. The class is currently ranked No. 15 nationally on the Composite.
