Big Ten football is gearing up for the 2025 season, and the league is gathering in Las Vegas for the annual B1G Media Days event. To kick off the event, the league dropped its preseason honors list for the year ahead.
The Big Ten does things a bit differently, forgoing a complete first and second-team preseason All-B1G team in favor of the preseason honors. The list includes 2 quarterbacks with Illinois’s Luke Altmyer and Penn State’s Drew Allar receiving nods.
Overall, Ohio State star receiver Jeremiah Smith is the lone unanimous selection this year. Smith is among the lowest Heisman Trophy odds in the country produced by BetMGM and is arguably the top overall player in the country entering his sophomore campaign. Fans can get his latest Heisman odds through the Ohio sports betting apps.
A total of 7 programs produced players on the preseason honors list while Ohio State and Penn State led the way with 3 players each. Illinois, Indiana, Oregon and Iowa each produced multiple players.
