Caitlin Clark’s sophomore WNBA season has not gone as planned, with multiple injuries derailing her campaign. However, she received some positive injury news on Thursday.
According to a statement from the Indiana Fever, Clark underwent more testing after her recent right groin injury. The good news is that there is no additional injury or ailment involved, but her full return to the court is still without a timeline.
The focus moving forward will be on Clark’s long-term health:
Caitlin Clark underwent further medical evaluations earlier this week, which confirmed that no additional injuries or damage were discovered.
Clark will continue working with the medical team on her recovery and rehabilitation, with the priority on her long-term health and well-being.
There is no timetable available for her return.
Clark missed some time just after the start of the season with a quad injury. Unfortunately, the groin injury cropped up not long after she returned from that injury.
The superstar point guard has appeared in just 13 of Indiana’s 24 games played this season. Clark was also forced to miss the WNBA All-Star Game after being voted a team captain as 1 of the top 2 vote-getters in the league.
Without the injuries, Clark was in a tight battle to potentially win her first-ever WNBA MVP Award in just her 2nd season as a pro. Now, the full focus for the franchise is on getting her back to full health without any future setbacks for the rest of the season and many more to come.
