The AP Top 25 has arrived ahead of the 2025 season.
Associated Press voters revealed their preseason top 25 teams on Monday. The poll will serve as the rankings of record until the College Football Playoff selection committee releases its top 25 toward the home stretch.
Texas is the preseason No. 1 in the AP poll. The Longhorns are coming off back-to-back CFP appearances and have 3rd-year quarterback Arch Manning stepping into the starting role.
The Big Ten claims 6 spots in the preseason poll, including Nos. 2 and 3. While there was some hype for a potential No. 1 vs. No. 2 showdown to begin the season in Columbus, Ohio State is No. 3 in the AP poll. Penn State takes the No. 2 spot as expectations are high in Happy Valley for James Franklin’s squad.
Oregon joins OSU and PSU in the top 10. Illinois, Michigan and Indiana are the other conference programs to begin the 2025 campaign ranked.
