Michigan freshman offensive tackle Andrew Babalola is feared to have suffered a season-ending injury, according to a report.

That’s per CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz, who was first to break that news on Monday afternoon. Per Zenitz, Babalola injured his knee during fall camp. Prior to the injury, Babalola was expected to compete for playing time as a true freshman.

Babalola was one of the top high school recruits in the country for the class of 2025, regardless of position. He was the No. 16 overall player and the No. 3 offensive tackle in the nation, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

He was expected to compete with Andrew Sprague for the right tackle job this season. With Babalola now sidelines, Michigan will need Sprague to take a big jump forward in his redshirt freshman season. According to Pro Football Focus, Sprague played 73 snaps last year — all but 6 of which came in Michigan’s bowl game loss to Alabama.
