Kirk Cousins takes to Twitter with his analysis of Michigan State’s close call

A win is a win. That’s how Michigan State must be feeling following Friday’s close call against upset-minded Utah State.
Spartans QB Brian Lewerke was solid for most of the game, but a misplaced throw led to a pick-six that gave Utah State a legitimate chance at taking down MSU. The big concern for the Spartans has to be on the defensive side of the ball where the team surrendered 344 yards and spent over 22 minutes on the field.
It can be tempting for fans of all teams to overreact following a close call, but Michigan State still has a lot of reason to be optimistic for this season. Minnesota Vikings QB Kirk Cousins even took to Twitter to give his breakdown of the game, and he thinks the Spartans “will be fine” following a few corrections.
Thoughts from MSU game last night:
-Offense has legit playmakers which will be fun to watch all yr
-Loved the speed option play-call 3 straight times in the RZ at the end
-Utah St QB is really good
-Clean up unforced penalties & tighten up protection & MSU will be fine #gogreen— Kirk Cousins (@KirkCousins8) September 1, 2018
For what its worth, Cousins’ analysis is pretty spot on. One of those offensive playmakers, Connor Heyward, scored the go-ahead touchdown on a late option play. And QB Jordan Love did have a solid game against a usually stout Spartans defense.
Cousins played for the Spartans from 2008-11 and finished his college career with more than 9,000 yards passing and 66 TDs.
