Former Ohio State tight end Cade Stover was a key part of the Houston Texans offense in Week 1, as he had 4 catches for 22 yards in the loss to the Los Angeles Rams. The number of receptions led the team in that game, as the Texans really struggled to move the ball against the Rams.

He was one of only two active tight ends on the roster for the Texans, but he will now miss extended time as he was place on the IR due to a foot injury suffered against LA.

In his rookie campaign last year, he finished with 22 catches for 133 yards and one touchdown. He was drafted by the team with the 123rd pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. In the Texans playoff victory against the Los Angeles Chargers last season, he had four catches for 28 yards.

Before he was drafted by Houston, he played his college football at Ohio State. He played from 2022-24 for the Buckeyes, and he finished his college career with 82 catches for 1,058 yards and 10 touchdowns.

With the injury to Stover, the Texans announced that they are signing Harrison Bryant from the practice squad before Monday night’s home opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
