For the third time in 2025, Michigan online casinos set a new monthly revenue record.
The Michigan Gaming Control Board reported on Wednesday that the state’s iGaming operators recorded $263.3 million in revenue in August, topping the previous record of $260.5 million that was set in March.
August’s total was a bump up of 5.1% compared to July, and a 33.9% increase from August 2024’s $196.7 million.

Here’s a look at how each operator fared in August compared to a year ago. Information provided by the MGCB.
All but two of the current operators saw an improvement in their revenue year-over-year. A total of six different operators increased by at least 47%
FanDuel First to Surpass $70 Million
In the very competitive battle to be the top online casino operator in Michigan, FanDuel hit a big milestone in August. It became the first to surpass $70 million in monthly revenue with its $71.1 million total.
BetMGM Casino had long been the king of iGaming in the state of Michigan. It generated the most online gaming revenue of any operator for the first 38 months of legalized online casinos in the state.
In March 2024, FanDuel finally caught up to BetMGM and topped the monthly revenue list. Since then, the two have been battling it out for the top spot. BetMGM bested FanDuel for yearly revenue in 2024 by over $25 million, but FanDuel has found a way to narrowly grab the lead throughout 2025.
FanDuel was just ahead coming into August, but has now created some additional space thanks to its record month. FanDuel holds a $5.7 million advantage on the yearly revenue total with four months remaining.
Month | FanDuel Casino MI | BetMGM Casino MI |
---|---|---|
January | $62,894,320 | $66,409,157 |
February | $61,714,388 | $60,336,117 |
March | $68,127,045 | $68,978,831 |

August | $71,145,824 | $66,605,216 |
Total | $522,685,609 | $516,948,317 |
While these two have battled for the top spot, DraftKings Casino has strongly held down the third spot. It’s $41.0 million in August revenue was $21.1 million ahead of BetRivers Casino.
Michigan Online Casino Revenue Easily on Record Pace
With another monthly record under its belt last month, Michigan online casino revenue is almost certainly going to set a new yearly record when 2025 wraps up.
Currently at $1.99 billion for the year through eight months, that is 28.2% ahead of the $1.55 billion Michigan was at through August of 2024. Last year, the state finished with $2.44 billion in revenue. Should the state continue to hold that percentage pace, it will finish at $3.13 billion in 2025.
Here’s some of the other notable data points from August’s revenue report in Michigan:
- Michigan’s August total sits second among online casino states. It bested these New Jersey online casinos, which tallied a state record of $248.4 million last month. However, Pennsylvania came in with $291.5 million in August revenue to maintain its spot on top of the US iGaming scene.
- The record month of revenue generated $51.6 million in state taxes for Michigan. It also brought in an additional $19.4 million for the city of Detroit and other local jurisdictions.
- Along with FanDuel Casino, a total of three other operators also set a monthly record for themselves. The operators were BetRivers Casino ($19.9 million), Fanatics Casino ($13.2 million), and BetParx Casino ($4.2 million).
