Minnesota’s Javon Tracy just pulled off one of the craziest Golden Gophers scores of the season late against Rutgers.
With less than 3 minutes remaining and Minnesota trailing by 4, Golden Gophers quarterback Drake Lindsey connected with Tracy a few yards in front of the goal line. Fighting through contact, Tracy extended the ball and broke the plane of the end zone for a touchdown.
Check it out below:
Tracy is having himself an afternoon for Minnesota. The Gophers receiver has snagged a team-high 6 receptions for 54 yards and the above touchdown connection. It’s been by far Tracy’s best game of the season – his 6 receptions are equal to his reception total through Minnesota’s first 4 games. The above score is his 2nd touchdown of the season.
Tracy’s score ended up winning it for Minnesota, too. Rutgers drove the field and attempted a field goal, but Dane Pizzaro’s attempt missed its mark.
The Golden Gophers are now 3-1 on the season, with their lone loss coming at the hands of Cal. Minnesota will take a significant step up in competition next week when it faces No. 1 Ohio State.
