What a game.

If you’re a Penn State fan, your eyes had to be glued to the TV screen from the fourth quarter on. The Nittany Lions led Appalachian State 24-10 going into the final quarter and things seemed to be going well.

That’s when it all turned around. Appalachian State outscored Penn State 28-14 to send the game into overtime. The Nittany Lions then opened up the overtime period with a TD to bring the score to 45-38.

On 1st and 10 from the Penn State 15-yard line, Mountaineers QB Zac Thomas tossed a pass into the end zone trying to hit his receiver between two defensive backs.

It didn’t end up working in Thomas’ favor:

The Amani Oruwariye pick sealed the deal on what would have been quite the upset. No. 10 Penn State survived and Nittany Lions fans across the country can now breathe a sigh of relief.
