UCLA continues to make changes to its football staff, more than two weeks after DeShaun Foster was fired as head coach after just 15 games.

Offensive coordinator Tino Sunseri and the university have parted ways, according to ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg and the Los Angeles Times’ Ben Bolch. The Bruins are currently last in the Big Ten in total yardage per game (321.3) and have averaged a conference-worst 14.3 points per game.

Sunseri joined UCLA from Indiana, where he oversaw a Hoosiers offense that helped propel the team to a historic season and a College Football Playoff appearance. Before that, he coached quarterbacks under current Indiana head coach Curt Cignetti. Sunseri has also had stints at Florida State, Alabama, and Tennessee.

Per Bolch, tight ends coach Jerry Neuheisel will serve as the offensive play-caller on an interim basis. Neuheisel joined his alma mater as a graduate assistant in 2018. He was then promoted to wide receivers coach and later became tight ends coach following Foster’s arrival ahead of the 2024 season.

UCLA is coming off a 17-14 Week 5 loss to Northwestern that dropped the Bruins to 0-4. They totaled 311 yards in that one, 180 through the air and 131 on the ground.

UCLA will next host No. 7 Penn State on Saturday at the Rose Bowl.
